POSITION NAME:	Senior Web Application developer

JOB DESCRIPTION – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a software development position. The successful candidate will be a part of the team building the next generation content management, delivery, commerce platform and community platform for reuters.com. The job requires a strong computer science background, ability to work with minimal supervision, strong software development discipline, ability to learn and apply new technologies, and ability to work on a team.    Ability to work with/manage offshore team of developers.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS – REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Java/J2EE, mySql and/or Oracle,Sqlserver, Apache, J2EE containers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, etc.).   Knowledge of HTTP, JavaScript/AJAX, XML and XHTML required   Knowledge od struts Java development framework a plus   Experience with a versioning system (e.g., CVS,SVN) is required.   B.S. or M.S. in C.S., E.E. or Math required.
