Anticipated Accomplishments

 

  • Independently complete financial statements for all entities in a given fund. Senior should demonstrate a complete understanding of all schedules and reports.  Senior should show ability to delegate parts of the work paper and report preparation to associates.  Six months.
  • Effectively communicate with the client/senior management either verbally or through e-mail.  Immediately upon arrival.
  • Demonstrate ability to supervise junior staff by (possibly) creating schedules, assigning tasks/deadlines and ensuring that deadlines are met.  (First few months)
  • Prepare and/or review capital account schedules and other reports for clients demonstrating an understanding of the report content and submitting it to Director for review with minimal (if any) errors (six months).

Position:          Senior Associate

 

Primary Responsibilities and Requirements

The Senior Associate position will be responsible for providing and managing the daily accounting and reporting function for private equity clients.  The Senior Associate should have a strong background in accounting; solid written and verbal communications skills, outstanding organizational skills and a proven ability to multi-task.

 

Specific Responsibilities

 

Deliverables Management:

  • Maintain and control the general ledger and various sub-ledgers
  • Preparation and review of financial statements, footnotes and partner capital statements
  • Prepare and review limited partner  and general partner allocations
  • Prepare and review capital call and distributions to limited partners
  • Prepare and review trial balances and work paper product
  • Interact with Senior Management
  • Interact with client

 

Staff Management:

  • Coordinate with Director on deliverable planning
  • Supervise work of junior staff to meet client timing and quality requirements
  • Review all work product prepared by junior staff
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and training to junior staff
  • Coordinate with Operations Group and Tax Group

 

Client Engagement Management:

  • Provide prompt and professional communications
  • Prepare appropriate material for client meetings / requests
  • Coordinate, support and facilitate external audits process


Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 4- 6  years experience in accounting (preferably public accounting and/or experience in the financial services sector)
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing general ledgers, financial statements, footnotes and working papers
  • Supervisory experience of other professionals
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task
