The successful candidate must be team-oriented, possess good organizational, written, and oral communications skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.  The candidate should be comfortable working across all business and technical boundaries and be capable of brokering solutions with a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities

·          Manages multiple servers in a production environment, ensuring that each server has 100% uptime.

·          Troubleshoots problems with networks, web services, mail services and custom applications.

·          Maintains a broad knowledge of operating systems, applications, networking, and hardware.

·          Monitor system logs and activity on all servers and devices.

·          May lead or guide the work of other staff engaged in similar functions.

·          Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings.

·          Coordinate with development team to schedule software releases.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Education to a degree level: minimum BS/BA, preferably in Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business application support with off-the-shelf and internally developed applications including.  Experience in diverse technical environments including but not limited to midrange Unix, Linux, distributed Intel based platforms running Microsoft software, and web-based environments.
  • Candidate should have solid relational database knowledge and experience, particularly with MS SQL Server, and MS Access.
  • Candidate should have strong networking support experience, as well as experience in desktop end user support.
  • Strong project management experience is required.  Ability to grasp problems both from a business and technical standpoint and to develop and implement appropriate solutions.  Solid understanding of the project management lifecycle.
  • Technical skills: Microsoft OS and applications, strong business application support experience, SQL Server, IIS, experience managing servers and server based applications, publishing industry experience a plus.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with continuous deadlines.
  • Motivated self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team.
