Control Systems Engineers to join a Systems Integration team.
The job responsibilities defined below will vary depending on the applicant's prior experience and capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Lead the activities of the Engine Controls Development.
Work with internal and customer multi-disciplinary groups to identify, understand, allocate and manage requirements for the engine controllers.
Conceive, design, document and support the implementation of complex system architectures.
Author plans & procedures, and support verification and validation of these system requirements.
Support the validation engineer in defining the overall validation plan for the system.
Provide risk analysis and risk mitigation plans.
Ensure engineering standard work is executed and completed prior to critical reviews.
Successful candidates should have previous experience designing engine control systems for complex equipment.
Entry-level engineers will team with assigned mentors to accomplish their initial assignments. Candidate must be proficient in use of common PC software packages and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering or related field required.
The successful candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Engine Simulation Design (Simulink is the preferred tool)
Control System Stability Analysis
Knowledge in DO178B to develop Software
Writing Test Scripts to test embedded Software
The candidate will be the lead project engineer for a program within the Power Systems Enterprise. Product families contained within the enterprise include Auxiliary Power Units (APU) and aircraft Fan systems.
Major responsibilities include:
Key focus on project execution of technical requirements to budget and schedule through implementation of the Program Management System Standard (PMSS) and the (IPD) Integrated Product Development Team process. Working knowledge of processes and procedures as detailed in SP1056 and TS6001/6005 is desired. Experience in resolving Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) through the use of the applicable ACE tools is required for improving design integrity and standard work practices.
The candidate should possess strong communication and teaming skills (working with internal & external customers & suppliers), and be skilled with all MS Office computer software products, particularly MS Project and MS Excel. A working knowledge of Earned Value (EV) project performance management techniques is required. Hands-on experience with APU’s or gas turbines is also preferred. Additionally, specific experience with JDE, Strategy, EIS, Tiger and the Electronic Action Request (eAR) system is preferred.
