Appropriate candidates for this role will have worked in financial services and understand the business applications which they have built. This candidate will be a creative force that works to develop solutions put together between clients and the sales team. The projects could be end to end solutions or product customizations. Candidates are highly technical and come from a development and implementation background. They are open to see people working in different technologies but Java technologies and Oracle database skills are preferred. Salaries can go up to 130K. This person will be based downtown and will travel about 25% of the time. The formal job description… 

To design solutions based on customer business requirements that maximize the use of the firms's products and solutions. 

Key Responsibilities and Skills: 
An individual contributor position with responsibility for the overall technical leadership and oversight of complex enterprise-wide business initiatives. 

Primary technical interface responsible for generating and gaining buy-in on business requirements based on customer interviews, proactive information collection, and physical/logical systems review. 

This responsibility typically spans all layers of the business infrastructure and utilizes generated requirements and criteria to facilitate selection of technical solutions. The Architect works closely with Sales, Pre-sales, Product Centre, Professional Services and clients with the following key responsibilities; 
· Influences the technical and architectural decisions at the highest levels within the account responsible, together with the account team, for the creation of new business opportunities 
· Responsible for the quality of the overall technical solution proposal. 
· Responsible for maintaining broad technical, architectural, and industry knowledge. 
· Responsible for utilizing and evangelizing core methodologies. 
· Evangelizes the firm's vision, products, and solutions. 
· Gathers customer business needs and requirements. 
· Participates in customer engagement planning and supports sales efforts 
· Builds a network with key contacts within the customer account, partners, and the company
· Analyzes the customer's current technology environment and recommends solutions for improvement 
· Participates in the development of the solution, and involves BDG and/or other Solution Architects when building the Detailed Architecture 
· Evaluates the candidate architecture and articulates alternatives 
· Promotes the selected solution architecture within the account 
· Responsible for the proper hand-over of projects to the implementation team 



· Identifies technical risks and mitigation strategies 

The following Key Skill are required for the role 
· The ability to create activity models, sequence diagrams, use case diagrams, system functionality description, conceptual data models, logical data models and class/objects. 
· Working knowledge and understanding of service oriented architecture design, J2EE and n-tier architecture concepts. 
· Strong leadership, verbal and written communication skills. 
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. 
· Minimum of 8 years experience.
