We seek an individual who will have a significant role within the group that develops our customer database and its related systems. The group’s responsibilities include providing middle-tier and database systems to support our browser-based internet applications. These applications provide customers with the means to apply for a brokerage account and to manage an existing account. A related browser-based application is made available internally to support customer-related functions required by compliance, customer service, cashiering, audit, and operations groups. The group also provides systems that publish customer account configuration information in real-time to the brokerage order-entry system and the market data delivery system. We provide the authentication system that controls customer access to our various services over the internet. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Duties for this position will include the design, development, and support of Java-based middle-tier servers, batch processing applications, and Oracle-hosted databases. The analysis and resolution of customer and system problems will be required. 

REQUIRED 

Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science 
At least two years of professional programming experience 
Extensive knowledge of Java, object-oriented software design, SQL, and relational database design 
Experience with Oracle database servers, EJB servers, and browser-based applications is a plus
