• 10+ years of experience working in the software industry with the most recent 5+ years in a development lead/manager role 
• Strong technical leadership with the ability to drive strategic development and software engineering 
• Results driven, strong problem solving capabilities, great technical passion with the ability to grasp new technologies quickly in a fast paced environment with multiple partners/stakeholders. 
• Demonstrated experience solving complex and large-scale software problems 
• Proficient in architecture and design including experience with multi-threaded real-time applications with an understanding of the data structures and their appropriate application, threading, inter-process communications, and networking (sockets, TCP/IP, multicast) 
• Strong technical background with extensive software design and development experience on Microsoft and Unix-based platforms in C/C++/C# 
• Experience with relational databases, preferably Sybase; experience with real-time databases and/or CEP is highly regarded 
• Experience with messaging middleware technologies 
• Financial industry experience working with real-time Market Data, Order Management and Risk across multiple asset classes. FIX Protocol experience is desirable. 
• Full understanding of the development life cycle from specification and design; to unit, integration and system testing. Experience with different development methodologies and their appropriate application 
• Experience with creating strong process promoting design, reviews and communication. 
• Proven track record in attracting the best engineers, mentoring senior talents and in building a world class engineering organization. Prior experience leading a globally distributed development team required. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A demonstrated ability to work with people across groups and at all levels to deliver excellent results in a small company environment 
• A Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
