Compensation: $60.00 - $75.00 / Hour

Rate is less on a W-2 

§ Must have 5+ year of Java development experience 
§ Strong background in Object-oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD) and UML 
§ Proficient in application design patterns and coding frameworks 
§ Experience with BEA Weblogic and EJB2 & EJB3 specifications 
§ Experience with Java Swing (is a big plus, can be light experience in Swing) 
§ Experience with automated unit testing using frameworks such as JUnit 
§ Experience with multi-threaded application environment in both user interface and middle tier 
§ Knowledge of relational database environment, Sybase preferred 
§ Knowledge of UNIX environment, Solaris preferred 
§ Experience with java-based rules engines a plus 

Responsibilities/Duties: 
§ Regular activities include: application design, coding, design/code reviews, unit testing, functional/regression testing, performance testing, integration testing, and technical documentation. 
§ Under minimal supervision, works with technical lead and business analyst/project lead to identify and develop new processes and/or system components, change current processes to enhance their effectiveness, or eliminate processes that are not justified. 
§ Designs and tests systems and/or systems changes accurately to insure system efficiency, data integrity, high availability, supportability, and maintainability. 
§ Coordinates with other development teams for application interface changes. 
§ Organizes and participates in application release process. 
§ Troubleshoots system failures and discrepancies. Recovery solutions are evaluated, selected and implemented. Communicates discrepancies determined in testing to impacted areas and monitors resolution.
