Design and develop new modules of the Smart Router platform, to provide fast, reliable, and cost-efficient execution service for internal clients and the Global Execution Desk. 

Position Responsibilities 
• Understand business requirements by working with clients, sales, traders, business analysts and personnel from Compliance and Clearing. 
• Understand how Smart Router interface with other systems, maintain and enhance existing smart routing strategies. 
• Design and implement new smart routing strategies based on business requirements. If necessary, work with other IT groups to develop appropriate data interfaces and data transfer mechanisms. 
• Write technical and support documentation for the systems. Train first-level support staff in the operation of the systems. 
• Participate in the technical production support rotation. When necessary, obtain the support of technical personnel (such as network administrators, system administrators and IT contacts of clients) from outside of the EMD team. 
• Communicate progress and risks to management, estimate work schedules, anticipate and avoid problems. 
• Stay current with advances in technology in his/her area of expertise and improve knowledge of business lines and market specifics. 

Qualifications 
• Must have at least a B.S., preferably in Computer Science. 
• Must have at least 5 years experience in software development with proficiency in C++ and Unix/Linux. 
• Multithreaded programming and network programming required 
• Must have excellent communication skills and analytical ability. 
• Experience with low latency, high frequency trading application development is desirable 
• Experience with performance analysis, code-optimization is desirable 
• Experience writing Oracle, Python, PERL and other scripting languages 
• FIX protocol a plus 
• Knowledge of smart order routing strategies are beneficial 
• Svn and Cmake knowledge a plus
