applications 
Requirements 
· 8+ years experience with Oracle on UNIX (preferably Linux or Solaris) 
· Proven Oracle performance engineering & tuning skills. 
Excellent PL SQL and SQL PLUS Development skills 
· Oracle database administration skills on 10g RAC, OCFS, ASM in Linux and 
· Solaris environments. 
· Solid knowledge of RMAN backups, Oracle utilities, etc. 
· Database performance monitoring and tuning skills, SQL tuning. 
· Superior Data Architecture skills.

Position Overview 
This is a highly critical position with the firm and requires both a creative and mature thinking individual who possesses a strong understanding of complex Oracle database designs from both a logical and physical perspective. The individual will be responsible for the overall advancement of the Oracle platform within the firm, from an applications standpoint, and will work close with in-house developers and back-end Oracle DBA to establish and maintain the highest level of performance and stability on our Oracle database platform. 

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following: 
· Review current operational data structures and recommend optimizations and reconfigurations as warranted and in accordance to best working practices. 
· Develop and maintain standards pursuant to data structures and models 
· Work with clients, business analysts, technical staff, and project team members to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance applications, scripts, procedures, and metadata for relational databases 
· work with data base administrators to migrate complex large scale applications into system test and production environments 
· Work closely with 3rd party vendors (e.g. ORACLE, Microsoft, etc) to integrate selected packages s appropriate 
· Recommend and evaluate new tools and methodologies 
· Serve as a data technical strategy expert and lead the creation of technical requirements and design deliverables 
· Develop schemas for all Oracle service delivery platforms 

Candidate Qualities: 
The ideal candidate would have 8-10 years in progressively advanced roles such as a Oracle DBA, Applications DBA and/or Oracle Data Architect. The position requires strong technical and consulting skills, a broad knowledge of IT technologies and strong communications skills. Candidate must demonstrate leadership through recognition, reward, respect, trust, and moral building within the team and across the many cross-organizational provider and business relationships. 

Work in a self-directed environment where strong teamwork, individual initiative and accountability are highly valued and expected. Personal flexibility and ability to work within a global footprint is a must. 

. Design and implement database architecture including strategies for partitions, failover (high availability), archiving, modeling, etc.
