2-5 years recent hands on experience of Sun Solaris System Administration. Strong hands on working knowledge of SAN integration with Sun hardware. Strong knowledge of installation and use of JumpStart. Experience with monitoring tools such as BMC Patrol. Strong understanding of Storage Area Network environments and Veritas Netbackup. Working knowledge of Oracle ASM, Oracle RAC, Veritas Clustering. Strong working knowledge of Solaris 10, Solaris Disk Suite, shell scripting and Perl. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Strong working knowledge of Sun Solaris OS upgrades and patch installations. Support Backup and Recovery and Performance and Tuning of Solaris OS. Ability to plan and prioritize work and meet project deadlines. Must be self motivated and work well with other groups. Must be able to work with an enterprise wide, large scale implementation. Experience with IBM Websphere Application servers. Experience with Oracle RMAN. Experience working in a government or civil service environment. Prior experience with other UNIX operating systems (ie. AIX, Linux).
