Job ID: | Job-0526 | Job Title: | Director | location: | Parsippany, NJ | Jobtype: | Permanent | Rate: | $110K - $120K | Description: | This position will be responsible for the operational support, architectural development, project planning, server maintenance, server security, backup/recovery planning and system integrity and integration for the Windows server environment. Director will have enterprise-wide responsibility for all windows related architecture spanning the New Jersey, New York and Regional Office locations. Primary Responsibilities Direct Systems Administrators and performs both routine and non-routine systems administration tasks for daily operations of the production environment. Perform the collection, analysis, and reporting of operational data for use in maintenance, performance tuning, and capacity planning for future enhancements/upgrades. Serve as an escalation point in the identification and correction of complex computing systems and application problems, including interaction with other support staff, personnel within the IT Department and business users. Independently determine approaches and strategies. Direct as well as perform Operating System installations, upgrades and maintain all applications to accepted specifications. Meet with project managers and IT Staff to best assess the required best practices and approach to configuration management from both a logical and physical perspective. Propose and implement server and storage consolidation/migration as necessary. Delivers production computer systems that maintain high availability of applications to the business users across the company as per design specification or business need. Apply operating system expertise in the planning, analysis, design and implementation of the enterprise systems and services. Recommend modifications, including upgrades, additions or deletions to systems or services. Provide analysis and justification for recommendations, which may include operational data, feasibility, technological enhancements, and changes as needed. Direct and/or perform system administration tasks for project implementations, which may include multiple, simultaneous activities. Provide technical direction and leadership to lower level systems administrators through the planning and implementation processes. Meet with project managers and third party vendors to help determine whether new software and/or hardware solutions are feasible and whether or not they are conducive to the environment. Act as an active participant in the selection of all monitoring and performance based software packages and tool sets. Maintain and implement technical documentation and operational procedures to support day-to-day operations. Train, mentor, and develop Administration staff. This includes laying out and explaining day to day responsibilities as well as making certain staff receives all pertinent training for their positions Maintain relationships and negotiate contracts with hardware and software vendors including but not limited to Microsoft, HP, EMC, and VMware. Maintain relationships and negotiate contracts with approved hardware vendors Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Knowledge: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in technical and non-technical capacities. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority. Distinguished interpersonal skills with a strong, consistent service orientation to both internal and external customers Detailed technical expertise in Windows 2003, Windows 2008, Active Directory, Microsoft Clustering Services, IIS, Radius/IAS, Dell/HP Hardware, VMWare 4.x/5, Citrix Metaframe Server, EMC Clariion Storage, Brocade Fiber Switches, and F5 Load Balancing, Sharepoint 2010 Excellent working knowledge of Active Directory including DHCP, DNS, and Replication in a global organization Ability to work independently and communicate progress/problems to appropriate personnel effectively. Client software experience including Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project and other Microsoft Office suite products. Experience Needed: At least 5 years of work experience in Information Systems in positions of leadership and authority including project leadership, staff supervision and management, customer service, budgeting, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and computer systems and server architecture design, implementation and support. At least 3 years of staff management responsibility. Must have experience in directing technical architectural design. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows, VMware, and SAN storage platforms platforms and protocols Experience in Server Consolidation, Backup and Recovery, and associated best practices for implementation. Experience with the implementation of automated system monitoring tools. Proven experience with security auditing, risk and threat analysis, contingency planning, implementing security standards and methods. Understanding of a broad range of IS issues, including firewalls, user authentication, access controls, auditing processes, cryptography, Internet protocols, physical security, and security management. Ability to work concurrently on multiple tasks and projects. Experience leading projects from inception to completion. This should include experience with project management software and methodologies as well as a track record of successfully completed efforts.
