· 3+ years working with web services, both as a developer and an architect of solutions with web services
· Strong familiarity with SOA concepts, and experience designing services in an SOA environment
Responsibilities include
• Leading, along with other members of the services team, the effort to establish a services strategy for the organization
• Designing and building services in the Java programming language
• Investing other teams in the approach we are taking, and making sure out approach is in sync with their needs
• Working in both Unix and Windows environments
• Developing or modifying databases as needed to support application development, and continually providing support for internally developed applications
• Developing technical architecture documentation based upon business requirements
• Practicing Test Driven Development
• Communicating development status on a regular basis to technology team members
• Recommending cost effective technology solutions for business challenges
Required Experience:
• Strong familiarity with SOA concepts, and experience designing services in an SOA environment
• Experience with at least one form of message bus technology
• Proven experience in iterative system design, development, and implementation
• Experience developing in Linux
• Strong Junit Experience. Experience unit testing web services a big plus.
• Experience with ORM layers (Torque, Hibernate, iBatis, etc)
• Strong SQL query skills
• Experience deploying and managing software in both windows and unix environments
• Experience with JavaScript, including AJAX and JSON (Dojo a plus)
• Must be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and will have exceptional writing and communication skills
• Demonstrated a record of developing successful applications that are highly integrated and reliable
• Ability to operate effectively, and with a sense of possibility, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to be highly collaborative in coming up with solutions
Optional but a plus
• Working knowledge of ETL processes, preferably Informatica ETL
• Building integrations to Workday, Taleo or other SaaS based solution (e.g. Salesforce)
• Experience with JBoss, Tomcat or WebSphere Portal
• Experience with Perl or other scripting languages
• Experience with build technology (Ant, Maven, etc)
Experience
• At least a 4 year degree in Computer Science, BSEE, MIS or a related field
• Development experience for either front or back-end of multi-tier Java systems
• At least 3+ years working with web services, both as a developer and an architect of solutions with web services
