| Job ID: | Job-0864 | | Job Title: | Senior Operations Engineer (Windows) | | location: | New York City | | Jobtype: | Permanent | | Rate: | $110K - $125K +bonus | | Description: | The Senior Operations Engineer provides technical expertise within a team focused on the implementation and service delivery of products, systems & networks in an Investment & Advisory delivery team. The role ensures that all aspects of operability are delivered as part of the implementation process while ensuring that existing service levels are maintained or improved. The engineer ensures compliance to operational standards, procedures and best practice. The role closely liaisons with various operational, project, development and product teams as well the service organization.
Duties:
• Function in a lead technical role for the implementation of new
products and capabilities
• Architect and implement infrastructure solutions for business critical
projects
• Review, create and contribute to design documents
• Collaborate with development teams on system design and serviceability
• Assure compatibility of components and operating characteristics of
subsystems in multi-product environments
• Recommend technology optimizations, performance tuning and process
improvements
• Mentor system engineers and help raise the technical knowledge in the team
• Leverage systems management tools in order to automate server builds,
deploy software packages, monitor servers, manage capacity, etc
• Schedule and implement production changes such as applications,
software upgrades, roll out of security and system patches, bug fixes, etc
• Ensure that appropriate documentation and training is delivered to 1st
Level (RunBook and Work Instructions)
• Participates in ITIL processes – incident / problem management, change
management, release management, etc.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 8+ years of Information Technology implementation and support
experience
• A bachelors degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science,
Electrical Engineering etc.) preferred or equivalent professional
experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems
• Advanced knowledge of IIS, web services and MS SQL database technologies
• Management systems and automation scripting experience required
• Data Center Operations and hardware experience required
• Working knowledge in Load Balancing, storage technologies (SAN and
NAS) and Networking
• IT implementation projects in the financial industry is preferred
• ITIL experience preferred
• Microsoft certification is a plus
