The firm provides professional, managed, and cloud services of datacenter related solutions to its customer base. A senior consulting engineer in the datacenter practice will work with our sales teams and customers in identifying unique business and technical requirements, helping develop solutions that provide value, and educating them on the proposed solutions. Post sales, this individual will work with the project teams and customer in ensuring a successful deployment and transition of the recommended solutions to the customer and/or managed services.
Sales
??Work with sales team and customers to assist in aligning business and technical requirements to develop potential solutions and strategies.
??Assist with development of statement of works, proposals, and RFP responses
??Assist in the creation of Bill of Materials for customers
??Capable of explaining and demonstrating various storage technologies to customers including the requirements gathering process.
??Able to formulate a solution including hardware, software, licensing, and engineering services
Service Delivery
??Work with project and customer teams to review detailed requirements, develop architecture,
design, deployment, migration, test, and support documents as appropriate.
??Review, validate, and recommend storage optimization to follow best practices
??Provide consultative design, deployment, and transition services for projects
??The ability to effectively instruct others on how to complete a task or activity (orally and written)
??Serve as tier 1, 2 and/or tier 3 resource for trouble tickets for datacenter infrastructure devices
Skills and Qualifications:
??Bachelor’s Degree in complimentary field of study, or equivalent experience and / or education preferred.
Work Experience
??5+ years of consulting experience with EMC storage, VMware, and/or Cisco products
??Customer interface experience in a corporate environment, including direct interaction with executive, senior level management and line-level management members.
??Previous experience working in a field service role as an architect and/or senior engineer.
??Expertise with VDI / Citrix a plus
??Experience working with or for a Value Added Reseller a plus
??Basic project management and resource tracking skills
Technical Skills
Candidates are expected to be highly competent in datacenter technologies. Desired skills include
??Strong Enterprise Storage, Backup, and Archive architectural experience
??EMC Hardware experience on Celerra, CLARiiON, and VNX lines
??Data Domain, Networker and Avamar experience
??VMware vSphere, vCenter, Hypervisor and VDI experience
??Cisco UCS B Series experience
??Cisco Nexus, MDS and/or equivalent Fiber Channel Switching experience
??Storage optimization and tiering
??Fabric interconnect and multi-protocol design and deployment skills
??Root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills
??Operational lifecycle (patching, firmware, monitoring, management, automation)
??Computer server architecture
??Storage replication strategies
??Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Certifications and Associations
Industry certifications from EMC, VMWare, and/or Cisco
