A minimum of a bachelor of science in Computer Science, CIS/MIS or equivalent degree from an accredited four year institution.
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience architecting and administering large scale, enterprise capacity IIS/DataStage ETL environments.
Minimum of 3-5 years in a mentorship role with 3-5 junior staff.
Experience with batch and real time (SOA) integration with DataStage
Unix Scripting experience - 6 years
Excellent planning and execution skills with a proven ability to establish and meet impactful goals and objectives with regard to data integration.
Preferred: Teradata 3-5 years, using TD utilities such as Fast Export, Fast Load, MLOAD, BTEQ, TPUMP, and Teradata parallel transporter
Preferred: Oracle 5-6 years using SQL loader, direct load both through DataStage and Informatica
Experience with IBM Infosphere Information Server, IBM Infosphere DataStage, and IBM Infosphere QualityStage. Experience with both SMP and MPP(grid) implementations of DataStage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities: Guidance to application and infrastructure groups to enable performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation.
Support, maintain and document integration plans of applications and infrastructure teams
Integrate software with existing systems
Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
Lead Product feasibility studies and or proof of concept per domain and enterprise
Project Planning and Project Management
Maintain standards compliance
Implement localization or globalization of software
Designs, develops and engineers hardware architecture user interfaces and business software components
Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex issues, restores service and performs root cause analysis
Documents the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures
Responsible for serving as a SME related to building, configuring, patching, and upgrading core infrastructure platforms for a mission-critical, multi-site enterprise environment
Responsible for the end state of operation, maintenance and continual service improvement of infrastructure platforms
Participate in project level architecture governance including the collaboration on and development of solution architectures & designs. Facilitate the review / vetting of these designs with the architecture governance bodies as required
Mentor junior development and engineering staff on architecture best practices, design patterns and reference architectures
Manage the planning and execution of environment changes like fix packs, upgrade, recycles, and planned outages.
Oversee the automation of all administration tasks within the ETL and data profiling environments
Have expert design, configuration and administration experience in Datastage 8.x grid environments
Works with the Data Integration architect to establish proper development and migration standards to ensure efficient processes and SLA deliverables.
Builds standardized frameworks, design components and best practices for all integration environment components.
Defines regression test strategy as appropriate for upgrades, migrations and changes
Defines, designs implements and manages metrics reporting across scalability, reliability, availability, stability, performance and security goals.
