· 3+ years of large scale software development experience using a mainstream object-oriented programming language such as C++ or Java.
· Solid software developer who writes clean top-quality code.
· Appreciates low coupling and high cohesion.
· Separates disparate areas of concerns.
· Builds applications from reusable and well documented components.
· Shuns implementation inheritance.
· Designs clean, robust and stable interfaces anticipating future use-cases and accommodating implementation alternatives.
· Knowledge of and experience with architectural and design patterns.
· Solid computer science background (e.g. algorithms, data-structures, multithreading, computational complexity, dynamic programming).
· 2+ years of experience working with databases using standard SQL. Able to implement normalized data models with an understanding of alternative design tradeoffs.
· Collaborative. Strong communication skills.
· High energy. Able to work in a fast pace dynamic environment.
· Goal oriented. Able to work with business and technology partners to lead a project to completion.
· Practical. Able to balance technical and non-technical forces to deliver system with high-level of conceptual integrity.
Desirable
· Experience with the following technologies: Python, Excel/VBA, Bloomberg, Reuters.
· Experience with mortgage investment products: TBAs, Pools, IO/POs, Agency CMOs, Non-Agency CMOs, Whole Loans, CMBS, CMMs, ABS.
· Experience with mortgage hedging instruments: Treasuries, Interest Rate Swaps, Interest Rate Swaptions, Eurodollar Futures, Treasury Futures, Treasury Future Options.
· Knowledge of basic financial mathematics: present value, price/yield, duration, convexity, option adjusted spread, yield curves, term structure of interest rates.
