Support both day to day and strategic matters as well as being part of a wider team supporting Group Underwriting Directors. 

The Business Analyst will be responsible for providing strategic, analytical and administrative support, including but not exclusive to: 

-Meeting day to day needs of senior management 
-Collection and provision of analytical information/analysis regarding underwriting activity and performance by Hub and Product to identify both issues and opportunities 
-The management of data/information flow across Group Underwriting, other functions and between Hubs 
-Ad-hoc project work/presentations (both internal and external) to inform Group strategy and to educate externals 

Responsibilities: 
-Provide specific support to Group Underwriting Directors in respect of business administration, analytical and communication responsibilities including but not exclusively: 

-Coordination of information (‘filtering’ and prioritization) and project work across Hubs and Products 

-Specific and ad-hoc technical assistance to guide strategic decision making and tactical project work 

- Market research and analysis - Coordination of and research into new classes of business and new business opportunities 

-Provide coordinated and collaborative support with Group Underwriting Directors and in conjunction with other business analysts: 

-Coordination and production of GUB reporting, analysis and presentations including: 

-Internal - Product focused, GUB, Executive Committee and Group Board reporting 

-External - Rating Agency, Investor, Analyst, Public and ‘other’ presentations/requests 



Knowledge and Skills: 

•Track record of effectively managing a team of similar size/dynamics 

•Solid compliance experience in Company and or Lloyd’s markets 

•Experience in a Financial Services environment 

•Track record of identifying and analyzing problems, identifying & evaluating options, deploying sound decision making skills. 

•Demonstrable evidence of interpreting & manipulating data clearly and accurately with the ability to extract & clearly articulate key points 

•First class report writing skills, ability to develop and present ideas and reasoned arguments clearly and concisely to various audiences 

•Demonstrates excellent communication skills, a confident and articulate presenter to internal/external audiences 



Education and Qualifications: 

• Bachelors degree 

• Fully/part ACII qualified, or willing to study towards this qualification 

• A recognized general management qualification e.g. MBA 

• Accomplished / be working towards industry recognized professional qualification e.g. CII
