Responsibilities

 

•Manage the US tax compliance

 

•Research and identify  indirect tax compliance obligations, maintain a comprehensive tax calendar of the company’s indirect tax compliance obligations, and ensure these tax obligations are timely and accurately met.

 

•Review sales, use, property, and other tax returns prepared by staff as well as prepare more complex tax returns for review by Manager.

•Ensure accurate accounting for the company’s indirect tax obligations, prepare account reconciliations, and interface with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure accurate presentation of the accounts.

•Utilize, maintain and assist with implementing technology solutions to streamline the indirect tax compliance function, including a Taxware sales tax solution.

•Research and resolve indirect tax issues, including documenting the resolution identify and implement tax savings opportunities monitor and respond to changes in tax law affecting the company.

•Assist with handling and resolving indirect tax audits favorably.

•Prepare, maintain, and implement procedures and processes to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient completion of the indirect tax compliance function.

•Ensure the internal control environment for indirect taxes is compliance with SOX requirements.

•Evaluate, coach, train, and mentor junior staff.

 

 

Summary of Experience

Minimum of 4 years experience in the primary responsibilities in a Big 4 or in a medium-large corporate tax department setting: intermediate level of tax knowledge.

 

EDUCATION

B.S Accounting or Business

Advanced degree or certification preferred
