Description:   

Must have a BS in an engineering discipline. Other requirements include a minimum 10 years of progressing responsibility in engineering and engineering management, including supervisory and relevant leadership experience, in an Aerospace or Defense manufacturing business.

 

Manage all aspects of the engineering staff in matters of requirements definition, product acceptance criteria, design to manufacture and concurrent engineering, design verification and acceptance testing, and supplier evaluation for new product development as well as support and sustaining engineering for ongoing manufacturing activities. The Engineering Director provides authoritative advice, counsel, and direction and is responsible for all areas impacting engineering, including:

 

Development and maintenance of robust and standardized processes and practices, personnel, and organizational competencies including sales and marketing support, customer interface activities, customer problem resolution, and employee relations/morale.

• Establish policies and procedures that assure all engineers utilize a structured product development process to create product designs that meet specified requirements, are fully documented, and are manufacturable.

• Determine engineering priorities and establishing, allocating, and tracking staff and budgetary resources.

• Assess and improve engineering personnel skillets and capabilities in alignment with company goals.

• Assure engineering personnel comply with established safety and administrative policies
