SUMMARY: As a member of the global Repo technology team, you will gain exposure to critical business functions including firm financing, trading and sales, and collateral management. You will gain knowledge of fixed income, equities, and loans instruments. Because of the group’s unique position in the organization, you will have a broad view across multiple areas of the Firm, and your business users include Traders, Salespeople, Operations, Finance Control, and Corporate Treasury. The Repo Trading and Trade Processing team manages the technology that provides real-time trading and sales and trade processing functionality globally. The team manages the applications front to the back including production support, enhancements, and strategic rewrites/rollouts. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: We're looking for a high performing senior developer/analyst in the NY Repo technology group who will: -Develop, support and enhance distributed applications (multi-tier, with C, C++, JAVA and RDBMS technologies) in the trading and sales and trade processing space. Some applications are existing and others are in build-out phases. -Take responsibility for development, testing, and migration of longer term, global development projects as well as ongoing enhancements and support/maintenance of the production environment. -Commitment to developing in a test-driven environment – entails building automated unit tests and system tests to run successfully in a development, QA, and staging environment with bi-weekly production installs. -Interaction with business users – primarily Funding Desk and Funding Operations. -Ability to mitigate risk in production environment – show sound judgment. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Between 3-5 years of application development experience with strong technical skills in the following areas: -C, C++ and/or Java programming. -Relational database and SQL. -Unix including shell scripting . -Experience with agile development a plus, knowledge of inter-process communication a plus. -Experience and knowledge in the financial industry including repo trading & sales or funding preferred by not required. -Strong analytical skills, problem solver. -Highly motivated – ability to take initiative and ownership. -Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
