We are seeking a senior business analyst with project management skills. The candidate will not manage anyone, he or she will manage the process. We are seeking someone with with 7 to 10 years of total experience. Candidates coming from management consulting companies will be considered as long as they have the strong BA/PM skills. Candidates from management consulting companies do not need to have the securities processing background, but it is preferred.

 

 

Project Manager/Business Analyst

 

Area:  Prime Brokerage Technology

 

 

Description:

 

The individual will be responsible for driving projects across prime brokerage technology.  Individual will work on budgets, project plans and day to day tracking and management reporting for these projects.  The person will interact with the business unit and technology staff across multiple groups to ensure success in all phases of SDLC including planning, development, user acceptance and deployment. 

 

Primary functions/activities:

• Help build the budget and track projects through the budget process
• Work closely with business sponsors to understand business drivers and collaborate with technical team-members to develop solutions strategy.
• Work closely with technology and product development teams to identify needs and develop requirements.
• Maintain projects in accordance with the SDLC process.
• Interact with developers, QA/deployment, corporate security and infrastructure groups to ensure implementation as per specification.

 

Experience/Skills:

 

• Experience in financial industry / securities processing
• Strong analytical skills.  Ability to understand underlying business drivers, organization imperatives, and ask the right questions to ensure the complete discovery of product features and requirements.
• Strong verbal and written skills to ensure proper project communication and documentation.
• Must be able to work in a team environment with a strong desire to see the team succeed.
• Strong understanding of full development life cycle
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Visio
• Strong understanding of web based applications and rich user interfaces.
• 5-7 years experience in project management/business analysis
