Duties
Provide telephone and at the desk support service for all users, ensuring that user calls are logged and addressed quickly and efficiently, escalating problems to other members of the team where necessary.
Provide technical support in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Blackberrys, Remote Access and Roaming.
Provide technical support for PC, laptop and printer hardware failures
Add, change and delete user accounts and privileges with the (office) domain, ensuring appropriate policies are enforced and access rights are granted.
Manage and control data backups/restores on all network servers, ensuring back-up logs and tapes are maintained in accordance with the contingency requirements and policies of the Firm.
Maintain operational availability of all cable plant, wiring plant, and associated equipment components necessary for efficient operation of both local and wide area networks and other communications facilities as required by the firm
Provide technical support in the use of third-party applications such as the Unified Messenger, Reuters Business Brief and Bloomberg
Assist in the installation of new and the upgrade of existing software and hardware throughout the office
Maintain operational availability of all audio-visual systems, voice mail systems, recording systems, and other equipment which may be operated and assigned on a geographical location basis
Assist (office) Administration staff in the technical support of visitors to the (office).
Assist in the support of all equipment located within the computer room, including application servers, network servers, associated peripherals, environmental control systems, alarm and detection systems, power distribution systems, and backup power systems
Maintain up to date documentation for the technical infrastructure, including operational procedures, network topology, administrative procedures, and other documentation as required
Monitor the helpdesk system and ensure service requests are entered and resolved in a timely manner. Monitor and track software releases and system packages at both the server and client level.
Develop and maintain and inventory of all hardware, software and vendor maintenance contracts allocated within the office.
Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers as required.
Manage the provision and support of all (office) mobile telephony needs.
Participate as team leader or team member in Technology projects as may be assigned on an ongoing basis.
Provide technical set up and support for any Firm Events as required.
Desirable
A minimum of 2 years experience in a desktop support environment.
A working knowledge of MS Office, Exchange 2000/2003, Active Directory, TCP/IP & DNS, ISA 200/2004 RRAS & VPN's and IIS.
Qualified MCSA 2003.
Experience in a financial services or equivalent environment and culture. Customer Service culture
