Senior Linux Systems Administrator

As a senior member of the System Operations team, the Senior Linux Systems Administrator provides server, infrastructure and application support while working closely with the Director of System Operations and with members of the Sysops and Helpdesk teams.

Position Responsibilities:
· Routine systems admin functions to maintain both internal and customer facing servers.
· Develop standards and processes for change and configuration management.
· Oversee standardization and administration of server farms at hosting facilities.
· Configure and manage performance monitoring tools and notification/alerting services.
· Design, configure and tune high availability Linux systems.
· Undertake various housekeeping and reporting functions for the areas of responsibility, including maintenance of shared resources.
· Compose, edit and maintain internal documentation for sysops team.
· Assist in implementing, executing, maintaining, and documenting proper back-up and recovery procedures.
· Handling routine admin requests directly from clients.
· Participate in product deployments, upgrades and maintenance.
· Maintain the patch levels of all OS and application patches on all systems.
· Design and development of deployment tools for software deployments and upgrades.
· Support third party applications products used in support of corporate mission critical systems.
· Ability to be on-call 24x7 to respond to site outages and emergencies (will be scheduled).
· Mentor and guide junior team members.

Technical Skills and Technologies Required
· 4+ years system administration experience
· BA/BS Degree
· Experience with change/configuration management
· Strong scripting/programming skills with experience in Perl, Python, Bash or other scripting languages.
· RHEL/CENTOS
· PostgreSQL, mysql, Oracle
· Strong Linux security skills
· VMware, Xen
· cvs/subversion
· Exceptional Networking skills
· Performance Monitoring/Hardware Sizing
· LDAP/NIS

· NetApp/NAS Systems
· Heartbeat/Linux-HA
· Nagios/Zenoss
· Tomcat / J2EE Systems
· Windows 2003 Server, AD
