The application enables online media providers to track the historical performance of each of their advertising products based on statistical data received from their ad servers. In addition this data is summarized and forecasts are generated for both the products as well as the summarized rollups to provide insight into the future inventory which is available to sell.

The role will be the most senior position on the project and the person filling it will be responsible for the end to end process which includes aspects of ETL, OLAP, Statistical Analysis & Forecasting, a Java based web application, and both canned as well as ad-hoc reporting. A significant portion of the role will be providing strong leadership and vision in the creation of the next generation of the product.

This position consists of a balanced set of responsibilities that are split between technology leadership and people leadership. A lead will be expected to spend part of their time coding hands-on and delivering solutions to the technical issues the project faces. The code delivered by the lead should be able to serve as an example of best practices & well though out design while also serving as a framework around which more junior developers can build. In addition the lead will be expected to provide extensive mentoring and guidance of more junior team members to help grow their skills and keep them on track. Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical to success in this role.

Required skills and background:
· 8+ years experience as professional developer
· 5+ years experience as Java developer
· Heavy emphasis on development practices and methodologies which drive software quality (i.e. Defensive Programming, Test Driven Development, etc.)
· Extensive experience with Spring and Hibernate.
· Strong SQL skills
· Ability to provide clear guidance and mentoring to a team in the creation of a comprehensive suite of JUnit tests



Useful but not required additional skills and background:
· Experience with MDX and/or interacting with OLAP data cubes.
· Experience working for a hosted application software provider in B2B environment
· Knowledge of and experience with JBoss
· Experience with Java 1.5 and higher and deep knowledge of the features added in these new versions
· Experience with performance optimization using tools such as OptimizeIt, JProbe, JProfiler, etc.
· Prior experience developing applications using Ajax Frameworks (Dojo Framework preferred)
· Experience in the online advertising industry
· Hands on experience in an Agile development based team
· Statistics/Data Analytics/Forecasting background
· Experience with Mondrian
· Experience with Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML)
· Experience with WEKA (Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis)

A degree in Math/Statistics would be a plus.
