The Physician Assistant is a Licensed Dependent Practitioner, responsible for providing primary care to patients, as a dependent healthcare provider working with a supervising physician.

EDUCATION
New York State Licensed Physician Assistant. The Physician Assistant is also required to obtain
LICENSURE: and maintain their National Certification. BLS and ACLS course completion is required. Ability to work independently and to make independent judgments/decisions regarding patient care, within own scope of practice. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and customer satisfaction skills.

Supervising Agreement must be on file in the Physician Assistant's Credential file in the Medical Staff Office.

JOB HAZARDS:
May be exposed to infectious disease processes. May include unknown/undiagnosed infectious and/or communicable diseases. Will be required to wear personal protective gear.
