They shouldn't have a ""consultant"" point of view. Top 3 skills: 1) Production support 2) performance tuning 3) building new environments"

"Replication: Transactional, peer to peer, db mirrorong Data base Performance, perf counter and DMV analysis TSQL Analysis and Tuning Database Administration Database Security Monitor health, tuning and growth Backup & Recovery planing Cluster administration 
Releases into production Tuning - SQL and DB" 
"The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining the availability and performance for MS Sqlserver 2000, 2005, 2008 databases in a production environment. The candidate should demonstrate a solid understanding of the types of database problems that surface in highly concurrent, reactive systems, as well as the various approaches for addressing these problems; the administrator ensures that the database provides service to its clients in a timely manner. Also, an understanding of handling state-dependent and event-driven behavior in database systems is essential. "
