Extensive experience in all areas of user centered design, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and usability. This person will manage a team of user experience professionals, set overall strategy and direction, and contribute individually on specific projects. The User Experience team, under the direction of the VP of User Experience, will be responsible for the user experience across all products and will drive our efforts to create one easy-to-use, easy-to-learn user experience across our entire suite of applications.

Responsibilities
· Lead a team designing the user experience for a suite of web applications delivering best-of-breed Talent Management functionality in the areas of Learning, Performance, Career and Succession, and Compensation.
· Own the user experience for all products. Conduct research and work with customers and end users to determine the critical user experience needs for a best-of-breed Talent Management suite. Produce designs for intuitive, reusable Web 2.0 components and user interactions across all of our products, ensuring a consistent, easy-to-learn and easy-to-use suite of applications.
· Work in tight partnership with Product Management as well as Product Engineering and Quality Control. Manage projects from creation all the way to implementation. Lead the effort to create standards for the Product Management and Product Engineering groups to use in the creation of new products.
· Build a User Experience team that will define the user experience for all of our products. Recruit and hire experts in interaction design, information architecture and visual design, as needed.

Position Requirements
· Candidates will ideally have five to ten years in user experience management, including significant experience leading a world-class user experience team within a multi-product business unit.
· Candidates must have deep knowledge of the creative process involved in creating elegant and highly usable web applications, a passion for educating others, and the ability to instill these processes into our product development cycle.
· Candidates should be able to work at an executive level and exhibit motivation, drive, ambition, customer focus, enthusiasm and tenacity.
· The ideal candidate is a methodical and pragmatic problem-solver who inspires confidence and trust with internal staff and customers, with a strong sense of teamwork, active listening skills, and strong negotiation and influencing skills.
· Candidates should have a proven ability to source, hire, develop and retain the most talented people while empowering them to high performance.

· Advanced studies in user centered design, human factors, and/or creative design as well as a deep understanding of web technology and enterprise-class systems are considered a strong plus.
