We are looking for a versatile Java / C# developer whose role will be distributed across all phases of the software development lifecycle. 

The candidate will be part of the Rates Technology team which provides all technology solutions to trading desk. We are looking for a candidate who can work with traders to identify and assess business requirements. These requirements can be complex analytical calculations which the candidate will be required to model, or work with quants to get them integrated into the banks core analytics library. The candidate will then be expected to design and develop generic and flexible solutions for Rates which could also be re-used by other trading desks if required. 


Key Project 

The bank is currently undertaking a large project to replace a legacy analytics library with the strategic library. This change is requiring a large amount of work in PnL and Risk space. We are currently building an intraday PnL and risk solution on top of the banks strategic PnL and Risk viewing platform. This application receives live trades and market data throughout the day from a variety of different sources and provides a real-time consolidated view of PnL and Risk across books and product types. The architecture off the application is a C# front end connecting to a Java application server with an Oracle database. 

This role will give the successful candidate exposure not only to the latest technologies (Java 6, Spring, C#, Oracle), but also provide the opportunity to work closely with trading desks of a rapidly growing business area. 


Key Skills 
• Excellent problem solving / investigation abilities. 
• Excellent Communication skills (will be required to face off against traders / front office users) 
• Ability to translate user requirements into working code. 

Technical Skills 
• Solid server side Java design and implementation experience. 
• Database design (ideally Oracle) 
• C# GUI experience. 

Pluses 
• Spring 
• C++ 
• Knowledge of Fixed Income and FX products. 
• Scripting abilities - Shell or Perl
