Clients typically include traders, fund managers, risk managers, middle office / operations personnel, IT managers and back office personnel.
Pre-Sales
Supporting the sales effort in qualifying, presenting, reviewing, and clarifying product and product fit for potential customers, especially where these activities relate to technical, functional and/or quantitative aspects of the product.
Being a “technical” member of the Sales team in processes relative to finding/developing specific solutions/configurations
Overall, fulfilling the role of “expert” in the sales process and developing relationships so as to build confidence with customers and gain insight into customer issues that might not readily be shared with Sales personnel.
Customer Retention and Development
Regular customer visits for the purpose of better understanding client needs as well as demonstrating company attentiveness.
Customer visits may include training and instructional discussions regarding advanced use of the product.
Account development – uncovering and seeking out opportunities for broadening the use of Imagine from a product perspective (e.g. covering additional strategies, or utilizing the system’s capabilities more fully)
Follow-up of customer visits includes coordination and pass-off to client services, especially account support managers.
Communication to senior management relative to endangered accounts, accompanied by recommendations for retention.
Other Functions
Pre-sales support for various lead generation activities such as trade shows or seminars
Ongoing feedback to senior management and development re customer input relative to product features and capabilities.
Back-up for support functions, including training, for highly technical / quantitative requirements.
Education and Experience
·University degree in Business, Finance or a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics) FINANCE AND/OR EXPOSURE TO TRADING OR BEING FAMILIAR WITH USING A TRADING SYSTEM IS REQUIRED
·At least 2 years of exposure to the financial services industry (particularly trading, portfolio management and/or Risk software)
·Broad understanding of trading strategies and financial products (including derivatives)
· Knowledge of Risk Management practices and metrics
Skills
·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – as appropriate for formal, international environments. Ability to articulate complex concepts fluently.
·Strong mathematical/quantitative skills (e.g. calculus and statistics)
·Ability to work well with customers and to build relationships.
·Ability to understand product at an extremely in-depth level and to maintain understanding as product evolves.
·Understanding of, sensitivity to, and participation in the sales process – ability to be a “technical” team member in all aspects of the sales process, including articulating value and handling objections.
·Excellent presentation skills. Teaching / training / tutoring skills are a plus.
·Ability to work in highly dynamic sales environment.
·Strong IT skills (programming skills are not required)
Other Considerations
International and domestic travel required, including frequent on-site visits to clients and prospects
