Compensation: $120K - $125K / Year

Competencies: 
8 years development experience in which at least 4 years in a lead role 
2 years managing and mentoring team of direct reports 
5-7 years experience in Core Java and J2EE custom-software development 
Strong experience working with complex large scale systems incorporating packaged and custom applications 
· Strong Struts, Spring Framework, and Webflow 1 or 2 and object/relationship modeling experience either Hibernate, Torque or IBATIS
· Experience in JSF 

Experience in Agile development methodologies, preferably XP 
Strong knowledge of Design Patterns and UML 
Excellent knowledge in Object Oriented analysis, design and programming 
Experience with either PostGres, MS SQL, DB2, Oracle or other Relational Database backend 

Experience working with open source solutions 
Experience with Perl or other scripting languages, a plus 
Experience in Visual Basic and other Microsoft-centric languages, a plus 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 
Oversee current custom application environment while participating in setting vision and standards for the development and integration of future solutions in a Java-centric environment currently leveraging Object-Relationship Modeling as well as a combination of Tomcat, WebSphere Portal, Web 2.0 technologies and the Spring and Struts Framework. 
Ensuring Production Application Support team follows best practices when architecting, programming or documenting solutions. This includes creating standards and documentation and leveraging processes to ensure all development staff follow the same. 
Assisting the Vice President, Application Development with development resource allocation and planning through Project planning, staff hiring, staff supplementation and / or outsourcing initiatives. 
Working closely with the Technology Operations team to ensure appropriate infrastructure selection, maintenance, policies and procedures are in place to support the custom application environment. 
Ensuring development staff are communicating effective knowledge transfers to support analysts 
Providing the highest level support for production applications 
Oversees current Production Application Development environment while proposing plans for future development, enhancements and integration concerns. 
Ensuring the overall success of these systems, especially pertaining to the technical matters 
Ensuring the on-time delivery of enhancements or modifications to production systems 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
Must be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and will have exceptional writing and communication skills 
Demonstrated a record of successfully leading and mentoring technology developers 
Ability to operate effectively, and with a sense of possibility, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment managing multiple, simultaneous projects. 

At least a four-year degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field. Brainbench or Sun certified on JAVA platform preferred
