Two front-end developers who have experience developing Web 2.0 websites. These are both exciting opportunities with a world-class leader in publishing that will continuously challenge the developer in cutting-edge front-end technologies and methodologies. 

Both positions are on-site in midtown New York City with a duration of 6 months contract-to-hire. 

The ideal candidate will possess the following technical skills: 

• HTML advanced 
• CSS intermediate+ 
• JavaScript intermediate+ 
• jQuery intermediate+ 
• JSON intermediate+ 
• AJAX intermediate+ 
• Fluid/elastic/fixed design intermediate+ 
• PhotoShop intermediate+ 
• XML beginner+ 
• OOP beginner+ 
• UNIX beginner+ 
• JSP beginner+ 

Nice to haves: 

• PHP beginner+ 
• Flex beginner+ 
• Flash beginner+ 
• ActionScript beginner+ 
• Other UI Frameworks intermediate+ 
• Agile development intermediate+ 

Gain permanent ownership of a project/product, implement it according to company standards, and continue acting as the SME for that project/product. While creativity, ingenuity, and innovation is encouraged, the expectation of the successful candidate is to enforce company standards seamlessly in all ongoing developments. 

The main responsibilities of the mid-level UI developer include but not limited to: maintain and support codebases; clean up code in conflict with company standards; support UI team developing reusable code in the form of plugins, modules, and classes; research existing suitable code applicable to projects in development by the UI team as a whole; and participate in UI team discussions.
