The team is in growth phase and will grow to 6 - 8 QA specialists distributed between 2 locations (NY and London) and reporting to a QA manager located in London. The Goal of the QA Team is to test new technology and architecture solutions for Search. The team aims to provide an end to end quality assurance of all new components being rolled out. The team maintains a close coordination with Product Owners and Development teams in an Agile environment. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will be involved in creating and executing advanced test strategies and working closely with Product and Development teams to evaluate, report on, and improve the quality of products in test. The ideal candidate is experienced in delivering successful products following an agile process. He or she will analyze requirements, implement scripted tests and collaborate with teams to deliver high quality, reliable data and analytical software solutions.
The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional team members, clearly articulate project risk and provide accurate, concise recommendations to Product and Development teams. He or she will identify and communicate opportunities for improved efforts in delivering quality solutions. The QA Engineer will also be expected to bring a breadth of QA experience and best practices to the company. Review and provide feedback on product requirements.
Plan testing activities, create test strategies, and collaborate with product and development teams.
Write test cases and create automation scripts.
Execute test cases and report on test results.
Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues.
Report on project progress and risk to project stakeholders.
Actively participate as a member of the cross-functional project team COMPETENCIES
Required/Must have:
• Experience working as Quality assurance specialist to perform functional and non-functional testing with focus in automated testing, and exploratory testing.
• Experience in the design of test scenarios, planning and execution of tests, analysis and evaluation of results.
• Knowledge of Bug life cycle.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology
• Must be able to multi task.
• Experience working with internal or external geographically distributed teams.
• Energetic and able to work in dynamic fast paced agile environments • Excellent communication and influencing skills. Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Should posses strong problem solving and analytical skills with a steep learning curve. TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required/Must Have:
• Strong experience testing of large-scale data sets, data set analysis • Good knowledge of MySQL (on Linux) database querying • Experience with scripting languages (C#.NET, Java) and automation
tools: BDD and supporting frameworks (Gherkin/Cucumber, SpecFlow etc.) • Clear understanding of various test streams and methodologies.
• Experience with Continuous Integration Testing.
• Experience with Test management tools / defect management tools. JIRA / Quality Center /Bugzilla or other open source tools.
Desired /Plus:
• Knowledge of Financial Markets a plus PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Total Years of Experience: 5- 7 years of relevant experience.
Recent # Years of Role & Technology Specific Experience:
