Description:    This position has full P&L responsibility and will cover locations in Houston and 3 other locations in Texas. 

Responsible for key marketing areas, establishing District marketing direction, supplier selection, new product introduction, sales promotions, pricing policies, key customer contact, and national accounts. 

• Manage the coordination of purchasing within the District with emphasis on preferred suppliers. 

• Develop where necessary and maintain cooperative relationships consistent with good commercial policies with regard to selected suppliers. 

• Plan, develop and implement specific actions and programs 

• Develop, implement and adjust as needed District sales plan designed to increase market penetration. 

• Oversee Branch Managers in hiring, deploying and managing outside salespersons to provide coverage of total District geography/assigned market segments while assuring adequate potential for individual territory development. 

• Develop outside salespersons by providing sales technique and product training through personal example, coaching and timely formal and informal training sessions. 

• Make regular sales calls on customer managers and principals of key accounts to foster growth and ensure adequate coverage, penetration and customer service. 

• Conduct quarterly reviews with District and Branch personnel to focus on performance against objectives and provide counseling, help and motivation to achieve objectives. 

• Develop a team working relationship between all employees clearly defining each member's primary and secondary responsibilities and how each relates to others within the District and Branch. 

• Insure adequate delegation of authority to Branch Managers and all subordinates to carry out responsibilities and tasks. The limitations to this authority must be clearly defined and communicated. 

• Establish and control pricing levels while implementing policies and programs to improve margins. 

• Support and breed winners in all District, Region and Headquarters programs, campaigns, and promotions and to utilize them as "tools" to improve sales, margins and overall performance. 

• Guide Branch Managers in the selection, hiring, development, promotion, demotion and/or dismissal of non-exempt employees. 

• Administer practices of equal employment opportunities. 

• Assist Financial Services 


Education: 

Bachelor's degree required MBA preferred 

Experience: 

1. Minimum of 10 years of electrical distribution industry related experience 

2. Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in motivating and challenging large numbers of employees in a business setting 

3. Minimum of 5 years of management experience in both sales and operations 

4. Must have several years of proven experience in running a P&L with full responsibility for results 

5. Ability to make networking connections with suppliers, customers, employees and colleagues in the region is critical 

6. Must be MS Office proficient
