Description:    Does accounting to support the reinsurance business including the application of the requirements of FAS157, FAS 133, and FAS 91 
Prepare audited reinsurance legal entity financial statements 
Act as primary audit representative for a business unit 
Research and provide guidance to business partners for the appropriate accounting treatment. Research and interpret accounting pronouncements to assess the impact of any emerging guidance 
Gather, review and analyze financial and operational data required to prepare SEC and Regulatory reporting schedules 
Prepare or review journal entries to the general ledger 
Prepare or review balance sheet account reconciliations 
Complete required certifications under corporate accounting controls policy. 
Perform ad hoc analyses and participate in projects 

This job requires both technical knowledge and problem solving skills, as well efficient practical skills to directly interact with the general ledger and other financial systems. 

The ideal person will be familiar with the requirements of FAS 157, 133, 91, and 5, and capable of researching and interpreting professional accounting standards. 

Qualifications 
6+ years accounting experience. 

Bachelor s degree in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Public Accounting (prefer Big 4) experience including Life Insurance or Life Reinsurance audit client exposure or combination of public accounting and Life Insurance or Life Reinsurance industry experience. 

Preferred Skills 
Masters in Accounting and/or MBA. SEC and Federal Reserve Regulatory reporting exposure or experience. Experience with derivatives and fixed income portfolio accounting
