Primary Skills:
Description: Senior Software Engineer to develop software and systems to support front office systems: curve construction, pricing & analytics, risk, revaluation, models, and general front office tools. The VP will need to independently design and write code, demonstrate a high level of problem solving skills, and communicate with the front office and other traders to assess their needs.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS:
Undergraduate or graduate preparation in computer science from a top-tier computer science program (or equivalent) and significant (5+ years) practical work experience involving quantitative programming, preferentially in finance.
OR
· Undergraduate or graduate preparation in a quantitative field (mathematics, physics, engineering) and significant (5+ years) practical programming experience.
OR both
Not required but significant pluses:
Familiarity with Microsoft Office technologies such as Excel, COM, VSTO.
Prior experience with financial systems, standards and protocols (FIX, FPML, SWIFT, Bloomberg...).
Formal background/training in mathematical finance.
Well-versed in C and C++, some familiarity with C#, active interest in other computer languages and tools.
Able to reason mathematically about problems at the level of someone who has done graduate work in a quantitative field, e.g.: analysis, linear algebra, differential equations, statistics and probability, discrete math, as well as a strong general problem-solving ability.
