Qualifications

- 6+ years accounting experience

- Experience with SEC financial reporting and complex accounting processes.

- 4+ years experience in public accounting or working at company with SEC reporting requirements

 

Preferred Skills

- BA/BS degree in accounting

- CPA designation

- Experience with large financial institutions specifically loan accounting

- Big 4 accounting experience

 

This position performs complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports related to multiple REIT entities. The successful candidate will perform the following:

 

- Serve as a liaison between the REITs and  lines of business with which they interact and assist with coordination of transaction flows across the lines of business to ensure completeness and accuracy of the REITs data.

 

- Recommend, implement and communicate practices and procedures for financial control providing in-depth business analysis and developing long-term strategies to optimize Treasury and REIT performance.

 

- Work closely with internal and external auditors, responding to complex questions.

 

- Conducting research and analysis to develop financial data for reports including responding to questions from REIT and management.

 

- Participate in all aspects of SEC reporting process, including preparing and reviewing reporting schedules, managing communication for financial statement production, and responding to comments and questions.

 

- Managing implementation of complex accounting projects having critical impact on the group or company.

 

- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles inclusive of internal accounting and accounting control policies.
