Description:   
A high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a smart software developer to design and implement both the front and back-end components of a scalable monitoring GUI. This GUI is the most common visual application used by traders to understand, monitor, and facilitate algorithmic trading. You will work closely with both traders and other developers to find ways to make high-frequency large-scale data meaningful in real time, as well as provide tools that support trading. This role is available in their New York office.
 
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing scalable GUI components with Qt (C++)
- Working proactively with traders and developers to design products to help meet their monitoring and trading goals
- Creating tools to visualize complex data in real time
- Developing robust C++ back-end servers and associated monitoring and deployment technologies
- Researching and implementing a GUI testing framework
 
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field
- A strong background in object-oriented programming, preferably in C++
- A passion for human computer interaction (HCI) and user experience (UX) design
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux
- Strong scripting skills in Perl, Python, and Bash or shell (a plus)
- Brilliant problem-solving abilities
- The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Financial experience is not required.
