SUMMARY: The team is responsible for smart order routing and internalization services, handling over 1 million client orders a day that represent over 2 billion shares a day entering the marketplace. Our infrastructure is used by our 10,000+ clients to provide high-quality, fast order execution using connections to all available exchanges in a given market. In addition, our new project expands the system to include new "private" sources of liquidity, which enhance the liquidity in the public marketplace with new sources from our partner firms that are only available to it. The initiative has blossomed into the de facto standard for Equities internalization. Currently we are expanding our infrastructure to handle an ever-growing demand. We can currently smart-route equities and US listed options, and also provide ticketing services in the US, Europe, and Asia.  The system is a high-speed C++ distributed system running on Linux (with monitoring and support tools in C# and C++) that is always under expansion with new development in the form of enhancements and new projects. Our processing volumes have increased tremendously over the past year, the new projects ensure a dynamic and busy working environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: -Design, develop, and support new functionality for smart routing / internal crossing. -Maintain existing functionality in live and fast-changing environment. -Maintain / Create support tools in C#.NET and C++ for complicated Unix/Linux applications. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Required: -Strong object oriented C++ background in distributed real-time systems on high-end Unix/Linux platforms. -Capable of interacting with both technical and business colleagues. -Network programming. -Excellent analytical skills required. -Three to seven years of experience. Preferred: -scripting Language Knowledge (PERL / ksh / awk). -windows MFC (collection classes only). -Suitable background would be in Computer Science or Math.
