Job Title                       Java Developer

 

Work Location              New York

 

 

Job Description            Senior programmer/developer with a minimum experience of 3 years in Java to work in the Global Clearing Services area.

           

 

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Design and develop applications to support Global Clearing Services. The candidate’s primary focus will be as a senior developer on an effort to rewrite a customer portfolio application. Attend meetings with peers, users, q/a, and management. Develop and/or understand specification and design solutions as per software development guidelines established within the firm. This position is focused on providing retail brokerage solutions to the Firm’s clients.  Provide regular project status to the management and/or users. The candidate is expected to be proficient in design, development, and testing of various technologies specified below.

 

Technical/Business Skills

 

Database Systems:

·         Strong relational database development skills.  Sybase or Oracle is required.  DB2 is a plus.

·         Exposure to EII tools is a plus. 

 

Programming Skills:

·         Strong Java Skills.

·         Knowledge of Weblogic server 8.1 with Weblogic Integration 8.1 considered a plus.

·         Object Oriented Design skills.

·         UML experience.

·         Ability to develop a finished code artifact from a specification.

·         Portal technology experience is a plus.

·         At least 7 years in experience in distributed systems.

 

Business Knowledge:

·         Financial industry experience is required.

·         Retail brokerage experience is a plus.

 

Project Experience:

·         Has the ability to plan and give time estimates on tasks.

 

Communication Skills:

·         Candidate should have strong communication skills and be able to interface with business users.

·         Has the ability to document their work and is a team player.
