Position Overview - Basic Functions & Responsibility

Essential function(s) includes, but is not limited to:

 

 

This position is responsible for managing day-to-day Fixed Income IT production operations for internal and external clients.  His or her charter is to improve production environment stability, minimize and control production errors, increase client satisfaction with production operations, and provide for successful new system implementation and adoption.  

 

 

 

Primary Activities

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

 

 

 

 

 

The Production Operations Manager oversees application production for Fixed Income IT production systems to:

 

·         Ensure the efficient, timely, and error-free implementation of all changes to the Production environment that affect current clients across Fixed Income IT Products

·         Approve, schedule, and oversee all client-side new product roll-out and upgrade efforts

o         Develop procedures for the rollout of each release and its requisites.

o         Create and approve the distribution of release-related information and documentation

·         Create and manage production, change management, and environment maintenance processes and documentation across client configurations and products 

·         Act as a point of escalation for the Support and Operations teams in troubleshooting and resolving production issues

·         Identify operational weaknesses and manage projects to proactively identify ‘failure points’

·         Identify causes for recurring issues and work with the appropriate internal groups to resolve them

·         Develop and manage special projects that optimize the production environment, either at the request of clients or driven by Fixed Income IT Management.

·         Execution of BCP and DR Plans

 

This person will hold responsibility for application implementation, change management, production problem prevention, production problem resolution/troubleshooting. 

 

This person will work closely with the Development Product Teams, Internal Client Representatives, Installation Teams, Technology Operations, and Support to achieve the objectives above.

 

 

 

Skills (include specific skill levels i.e degree, years of experience, industry experience, leadership)

 

This is a hands-on management position for someone with at least 5-7 years experience in a related position managing production operations in a mission critical, real time IT production environment.  Fixed Income  market knowledge and a strong familiarity with trading technologies, specifically real-time fixed income  trading platforms are required - experience at an established trading systems IT vendor or Brokerage firm is preferred.  

 

This person will be required to work with various internal teams and must exhibit proven management and leadership skills.  This person must be highly organized, process and detail-oriented, and customer-focused.  Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Finance-related field preferred.
