1: UDB DBA [applications] on AIX with at least 3 yrs experience. This needs to be a person who is prepared to serve as a subject matter expert. They have a DB2 DBA on site with some UDB knoweldge, but, not enough to fully support the enterprise as it needs to be supported. 2: Excellent SQL programming skills 3: Solid DBA: DR, back-up, restore, along with solid Unix scripting [shell] skills 4: Ideally a person who has had exposure to DB2 - this is because, most of their data resides in DB2, Data Warehouse project [main focus of the job] will be to pull data from DB2. Job Description: | RAF 012113 - Sr. DBA/Data Architect/D26 - NYC - In this position, you will be responsible for all aspects of Database Administration in support of the institutional data warehouse and related data mart(s) utilizing IBM DB2 for ZOS and DB2 UDB on AIX. The enterprise data warehouse is a central component of the information gathering and delivery BI architecture that supports operational reporting and clinical research initiatives. You will perform database development and support of institutional operational data store, management of the related DBMS objects, assist in the installation, upgrade and testing of the warehouse system components, perform logical and physical database design including 3NF and dimensional modeling. You will be responsible for implementing security strategy, database maintenance and optimization. Further responsibilities include database performance monitoring and tuning, review and tuning of complex B1 SQL queries, planning/implementing backup and recovery strategies. You will participate in developing data architecture and database management policies/standards and procedures. As a warehousing team member you will support and provide required guidance to the ETL development group. We require: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, MIS or a related field with 8 years of experience with database development and administration, a minimum of 3 years of DBA experience with DB2/UDB version 8 and/or 9 and 5+ years of experience in supporting a large DW environment. Excellent SQL programming skills, UNIX support skills are critical. Good knowledge of the ERWIN modeling tool, experience in supporting ETL development along with prior work experience with a health care organization is preferred. Working knowledge of storage configuration and management, federated DBMS environments, experience with XML technologies, SQL server, is a plus. f The ideal candidate will be highly self-reliant and motivated, and be able to take ownership of tasks through completion. Strong problem solving, leadership and communication skills are essential. Hours: 9:00AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday. Available for on-call coverage during the weekends and implementations. Require to participate in 24/7 on call rotation. |
