Sr DB Architect - a strong multidatabase data architect with equities experience. NYC or Whippany they looking to fill this role in 2 weeks

Purpose of Role

 

The position will encompass:

·         Re-design and architect the current Sybase database structure.

·         Migrate current Sybase databases servers to Oracle environment.

·         Create and maintains a data architecture to increase the robustness, performance and scalability of the entire system.

·         Establish an architecture roadmap for on-going and future application development.

·         Design and extend the webservice layer that insulates the DB from all application layer

·         Contribute to the system architecture and take ownership of the design and development of the DB layer.

·         Establish coding standards for all stored procedures, triggers and logical and physical schema design and enforce and review the standards within the development team.

·         Fine tune sql queries and database performance for all applications within the development environment

·         Participate in design, code reviews, documentation of design, and implementation of methodologies for all databases.

·         The individual will also oversee a 3-4 persons database development team

 

 

Professional Qualifications

• 10 to 15 years of experience in design and architect database and data warehouse technologies.
• Proven strong innovative and analytical ability with extensive implementation skills.
• Expert on DBMS with distinguished achievements on database query optimization.
• Proven success in performance optimization.
• Proven track record in building and operating highly scalable databases across multiple locations
• Strong technical leadership skills with extensive hands on experience.
• Must be a team player and have excellent communication skills.
• Must have multi database server environment experience, Sybase, SQL server and Oracle.
•  JAVA, Perl, UNIX shell language is a must.
• MS in Computer Science degree is preferred.
• Investment banking experience is a plus.
