SUMMARY

Design and develop new modules of the Smart Router platform, to provide fast, reliable, and cost-efficient execution service for clients and the Global Execution Desk.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  

• Understand business requirements by working with clients, sales, traders, business analysts and personnel from Compliance and Clearing.
• Work closely with the contracting company as the Smart Router is being developed, to monitor progress, review technical decisions, and understand the system at a code level.
• Set up test environment, coordination with contracting company and system administrators required.  Perform Smart Router UAT testing.
• Design and implement new smart routing strategies based on business requirements.  If necessary, work with other IT groups to develop appropriate data interfaces and data transfer mechanisms. 
• Write technical and support documentation for the systems.  Train first-level support staff in the operation of the systems.
• Participate in the technical production support rotation.  When necessary, obtain the support of technical personnel (such as network administrators, system administrators and IT contacts of clients) from outside of the EMD team.
• Communicate progress and risks to management, estimate work schedules, anticipate and avoid problems.
• Stay current with advances in technology in his/her area of expertise and improve knowledge of business lines and market specifics.

None

 

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Must have at least a B.S., preferably in Computer Science.
• Must have at least 5 years experience in software development.
• Must have excellent communication skills and analytical ability.
• Must have experience in developing smart routing strategies.
• Must be proficient in Java, C++, and Unix.
• Must have experience in multi-threaded programming and network programming.
• Must have experience in Oracle.
• Experience in FIX a plus.
• Experience in CORBA a plus.
