Job Description:	Principal, Software Engineer Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our  Software Engineering team in the Trading and Data Group  The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for the designing, developing, and maintaining the market data applications.   Essential Responsibilities: Design and develop market data applications. Provide production support for market data platform. Maintain and enhance existing market data application for Quote Server and various exchange market data feed. Port existing market data applications to Linux platform. Interface with product team to gather requirements. Minimum Professional and Technical Skills: Qualifications: 7+ years design and programming experience. Experience in the following languages: -  Programming language in C++ .NET  and XML -  Scripting language in  Shell and Perl -  Object-Oriented design and programming -  TCP/IP and multicast protocol -  Multi-threaded programming Strong knowledge of Windows, Solaris and Linux Operating Systems. Must have knowledge in Market Data feed and trading experience.   For example:  ECN feed, Nasdaq and NYSE. Experience in using tools such as ClearCase, Purity, CVS and SourceSafe. Familiar with the ADAPTIVE Communication Environment (ACE) frameworks. Proven ability to carry technical vision and provide technical leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong set of problem solving and analytical skills. A strong sense of process, detail and follow-through. Ability to multi-task across problems domains and various contexts. Ability to work effectively in a team or work independently.       Minimum Education, Certification, Training: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Computer Information Systems is required.  A  Master's degree is preferred
