Linux Network Administrator 70-80k base plus bonus NYC SNRJA44

The Linux Network Administrator’s duties are to manage and improve the Linux server environment, as well as the corporate networking environment.   The candidate should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years Network Administrator experience, with a focus on providing documentation of systems, and processes, as well as a strong interest in computer security.

 

                          

The candidate should be familiar with the following:

  • Popular Linux distributions.
  • Building software from source code.
  • Loading kernel modules and debugging driver issues
  • BASH scripting
  • Common security threats and techniques for mitigation
  • OSI model
  • Configuring Cisco routers and switches using IOS
  • Firewall concepts
  • SNMP

 

Experience with the following is not required but is favored:

  • Apache
  • Samba
  • ZenOSS or other network monitoring tools
  • OpenAFS
  • EMC products
  • Fibre Channel switches
  • Perl or Python scripting

 

The following technical certifications are not required but are favored:

  • CCNA or other Cisco certifications
  • RHCE or other Redhat certifications
  • CISSP
  • Any GIAC certifications
