The ideal candidate will lead safety & hoistway equipment mechanical component development, quality improvement, cost reduction and product support.
- Lead and coordinate the design and testing of mechanical components according to Otis product development standards.
- Research, design and evaluate mechanical elevator products to meet requirements, applying knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
- Coordinate preparation and testing on mechanical components.
- Coordinate preparation of assembly and detail drawings of mechanical components.
- Coordinate documentation for sales, manufacture, purchasing, and quality.
- Support product quality improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Provide support to System Project Engineers on a regular basis.
- Provide support to Otis organizations or third party testing facilities on all matters relating to mechanical qualification and testing.
- Provide other segments with mechanical engineering support as required.
Accountability & measures:
- Job performance will be measured in accordance with component project success and ability to serve the customers.
Candidate Must Have :
* - Minimum 7 years design work experience.
* - Experience with CAD, especially ProE.
* - Experienced in modeling and simulation tools, such as MATLAB.
* - Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
* - BS Mechanical Engineering degree. Master�s level degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
