The successful candidate will be able to apply the principles of mechanical engineering in the design and analysis of ophthalmic surgical equipment and disposables. Execute mechanical design activity and partipate in projects as a direct contributor to a cross-functional team. Author, review and approve technical specifications, DFMEA's and test protocols, and execute design verification protocols. Update Solid Works CAD models and assemblies and review mechnaical drawings and specification sheets. Create CAD models of plastic injection molded parts, sheet metatl parts, aluminum castings, OEM parts, and electro-mechancial assemblies. Troubleshoot mechanical design and performance issues and complete root cause analysis. Will also participate in the development of project plans and budget estimates.

Requires a BS in mechanical engineering from an accredited university. 5+ years of product design, writing requirements documents and protocols and 3D CAD modeling. 1+ years experience using Solid Works. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project. Working knowledge of Design for Six Sigma. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Candidate Must Have :
* 1-2 years troubleshooting experience
* Work experience with motors, bearings, and pumps
* Experience in analytical tools and instruments
