This role is for a Design Manger for large capital projects in the Family Care Global Business Unit. This is a new role that is central to the execution of a very large capital project which will combine process design, mechanical design, and electrical design with several internal and external engineering partners in a still to be formed design organization.

The Responsibilities for this Role Include:
Own decisions on how to organize, set up design work flows and standards, select design tools, and quality assurance of design deliverables.
Build organizational capability, including build-to-print equipment supply capability from low cost fabricators.
Provide direction for the setup of the design organization to a number of partners. Be the single point of contact for external design companies.
Define what to staff with internal resources versus engineering partners, handle confidentiality agreements, design of project interfaces, and communication.
Develop effective design work processes that lead to a quality documentation package for design, construction and operation of the assets. Ensure protection of our intellectual property as well as the schedule and budget needs. The success of these work processes will drive engineering productivity and guarantee a design outcome that can be reapplied effectively.
Determine the right choices for design tools including Process CAD, Machine CAD, electrical CAD, visualization tools, modeling tools, and document management systems.
Drive the right level of information into our manufacturing systems to enable effective operation and maintenance.
Define the standard approach to drive efficiency and quality in the engineering of such large capital projects in the future, in the Global Business Unit and the company as a whole.

The Qualifications for this Role Include:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer sciences, mathematics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a variety of design management roles.
Must have experience in the execution of large and complex capital projects (more than $100MM).
Must have experience organizing engineering efforts with major capital investment projects including plant design.
Experience delivering design systems for an engineering organization.
A background in IT project management is a plus.
Experience and broad knowledge of various design tools, CAD tools and database management software packages.
Good knowledge of the engineering software market, including companies and products.
Experience with build-to-print equipment fabrication and sourcing.
Knowledge of the challenges of low cost capital equipment sourcing.

Candidate Must Have :
* A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer sciences, mathematics, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in a variety of design management roles.
* Must have experience in the execution of large and complex capital projects (more than $100MM).
* Must have experience organizing engineering efforts with major capital investment projects including plant design.
* Experience delivering design systems for an engineering organization.
