Incumbents in this job are responsible for managing one or more employees.
Area of Expertise:
Leadership or participation in multidisciplinary research and collaboration with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software.

Level of Responsibility:
Has functional responsibility for entire systems, projects, programs or subsystems across or within functional areas
Applies strong process orientation with ability to envision and implement department strategic initiatives
Uses strong oral and written communication skills to support effective interaction with customers
Demonstrates ownership of software process, ensuring consistent application across programs
Mentors and coaches department senior staff. Prepares staff for current and upcoming business roles.
May be a Product owner, first point of contact for issues related to product
Develops strong cross functional ties to establish framework for well integrated approach to development programs
Makes decisions by thinking through implications within and outside department
Contributes directly to department strategy considering immediate and long term goals
Positioned to fill in for internal/external organizational gaps in Electric Systems
Provides management of resources and skill-sets for associated programs
Is a focal point for summarization and distribution of performance reviews
Works with associated leads and Program leadership to ensure best practices and design strategies are integrated into proposals and program plans
Desired Skills:
- SW development for aircraft systems per DO-178B standards
- Digital filter design & implementation
- Use of in-circuit emulators / target system debuggers
- Development for TMS320F2812, or similar target DSP
- Ability to perform initial SW integration with newly designed hardware, utilizing both SW and HW debugging skills
- Proficiency with ANSI C
- Motor control software development
- Read/understand electronic circuit schematics
- Broad life-cycle experience: requirements analysis through HW/SW integration & test
- BSEE, CE, or ET
BA/BS degree w/7+ years experience
MA/MS degree w/5+ years experience
PhD degree w/4+ years experience
Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to
ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards
Attend scheduled EH&S training program
Actively support the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans
